Winter is coming

In a busy everyday life, relationships with partners, family, and friends can benefit from a little extra attention—and quality time without interruptions. A short break at the Southernmost part of Norway offers opportunities for deep connection, sensory-filled hikes on foot, by bike, or by kayak, unforgettable culinary experiences, and a close connection to the vast, blue nature. It’s a setting made for focusing on yourself, the people you love, and the nature surrounding us.

Watch the sunrise from your hotel room or take a coffee out to the beach or a nearby rocky hill. Witness the sunset from the old coal-fired lighthouse at Lindesnes as the sky ignites in color, and experience the transition to a starry night with the lighthouse beams stretching across the horizon. And, of course, enjoy the daylight and the high sky here with walks in stunningly beautiful nature.

Dining

The head chef at Havhotellet serves culinary experiences based on the best seasonal ingredients. Fish comes from local fishing boats, and meat, eggs, and dairy products come largely from local animals that have lived a good life. Our bread is homemade. Here, you can savor your surroundings with your sense of taste too—always served with a smile.

Exploring the Local Area

The Southernmost part of Norway practically begs to be explored by foot, bike, kayak, or boat. Kilometers of trails await you, offering the chance to enjoy the raw and rugged beauty of this area. Ask us about our favorite local tours. As a guest of Havhotellet, you can borrow bikes, fishing gear, or kayaks for free. Our neighbors also offer boat rentals.

Lindesnes Lighthouse

All guests at Havhotellet receive free admission to our wonderful neighbor, Lindesnes Lighthouse. It’s a magical area with both historical significance and modern-day relevance, which will fascinate most visitors. Every Friday in October and November, the lighthouse offers nighttime tours with the lighthouse keeper.

Swimming

Winter is the perfect time for a swim. Indoors, we offer warm temperatures in our hot tub with views of the sea—it’s a cozy spot to relax while the storm rages outside. But we love outdoor swimming year-round, and winter is our favorite time(!) for a dip. The water is refreshing and still relatively warm, with the low sun inviting you to swim at sunrise or sunset. Ask us for tips on our favorite swimming spots.

Ceramics

We have many wonderful neighbors here at the Southernmost part of Norway, and Trond and Hanne are among them. They created the beautiful ceramics you’ll find at Under, including art, table decorations, and plates. They have a stunning workshop in the old power station at Lonebekken, just a 5-minute drive from Havhotellet. Here, they offer ceramics courses in magical surroundings. Ask at reception for more information.
